White Balance Camera Tests Plus Evaluative Notes
Evaluation: The AWB Automatic option is not as true or faithful as Custom WB. This is because the colours are darker, and more washed. Also, the orange on one of the books is not as orange compared to in reality. The Daylight option is the least faithful because there is an orange tint throughout, and the first book is more dark pink than orange. The Tungsten option is better, but the orange is still too dark, and the lighting is generally made too bright. Lastly, the Custom WB option is the best as the orange, and other colours, are the closest to reality, but the colours are still a little bright. Therefore, I found the Custom WB option the most effective when using white balance. For the Custom WB shot I would be awarded a Level 3, putting me at a B (a grade above my target grade for the year). However, I would be moving towards an A if it was consistent throughout sequences of shots and the remainder of the film.
