Advanced Portfolio Synopsis First Draft Plus Evaluative Notes

A2 Advanced Portfolio Synopsis 1

Evaluation: There is a lot of room for tension, which can be built more by raising the stakes. I could raise the stakes by making this a special moment for the man and the woman, maybe an anniversary. This makes you think about how much trouble they went through to get to this moment. I also need to think about when the sound can come in for a better effect. There could be more interplay before the man opens the door, for example how they both react to the noise (he could not like confrontation, but she’s coming apart at the seams because her special moment is being jeopardised), maybe the man is looking for something to stop the noise with, but keeps finding inappropriate items for the situation (giving a more significant use of mise-en-scene). There should be a different kind of tone for both rooms so as to create contrast. I need to internalise it before i externalise it (this can be done through the acting). It could start more compressed, but lose it’s ability to stay compressed. I also need to set the scene more-punctuated with key description giving the audience an indication of this special moment.
